I just find it hard to enjoy Ricky Gervais, Ive seen him do his stand up comedy and didnt find his jokes funny at all, but He seems to be loved more outside his native UK , as he’s seen more as annoying, rather than a comic genius. The office UK I only liked his funny dance “You really wanna see it?” as weeks after that episode thousands if not millions of people tried to imitate that dance (I even was at a interview for a travel company when one of the people who was looking for the job actually during the interview took all his clothes off and done the dance naked around a room with 200 people!!!)
Anyway this film I think will get the same response as his last movie ghost town, if you liked this movie you will like Invention of Lying. The film is written by the man himself, so ghost town, the office, the extra’s you liked these, you like This one. Ricky Gervais does think of himself as a British comedy insitution so why isnt he following other British insitutions like James Bond and releasing the film first in UK, then following week everywhere else? or has he finally realised his fanbase back home is dwindling whilst USA its getting bigger….
Hard dry humour to understand at times, but im sure hell do well.
