Looks like a good one. I don’t think I would watch it in the theatre but I will rent it.

Look good, another heart warming film from Will. He always gets released on the holidays, the perfect release time for a box office hit.

He an organ donor . atleast thats my theory.
September 29th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
Obviously he dies and does a directed heart donation to Rosario’s character. Pithy and manipulated story….the public will eat it up.

He is a Scientologist
September 29th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
This is so fuckin cheesy. Why do people love shitty movies?
September 29th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
maybe he is planning to pound her seven times……giggity giggity
September 29th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
From the Trailer he appears to be on organ donar. 7lbs, 7 different people all getting various parts of his body, totaling 7lbs.
Eyes to Harrison
Heart to Dawson : literally and figuratively

Maybe he is just going to knock her up. A baby can be about 7 lbs. when born.

Wow that trailer pretty much gave away the majority of the plot. Now I don’t even need to watch the movie..
Fucking thing sucks.

He is a great actor. His movies with serious character like the Pursuit of Happiness or Ali are the best. I hope he will can repeat it with Seven Pounds.

i think that this movie doesn’t have anything to do with organ donations or getting the grl knocked up i think he did something bad that somehow involves the grl and he ends uptrying to fix what he has done involving 7 characters and 1 truth
November 18th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
whatever it is this gut picks “can’t miss” scripts. along with his acdting he has catapulted himself into the rare air of fine actors

scientologists must be in a high tax bracket
December 4th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Looks great! I expect this to be Will’s biggest and best film since “Men in Black”.

My guess: Will Smith’s character plans to commit suicide and have his body recovered in time to harvest his organs. He seeks out people who are eligible recipients to make sure they are organ- worthy. He falls in love with a woman with a bad heart; the human heart weighs 7 pounds - give or take. Does he seek redemption and kill himself to save his new love? Does a miracle occur and a happy ending results? If I were a gambler, I’d go for the sad ending - it’s more oscar worthy.

I like this plot and this movie seems interesting, plus its will smith one of my favorite actor.
December 15th, 2008 at 12:16 am
Human heart does weight anywhere near 7 pounds
December 15th, 2008 at 1:29 am
Uh..the human heart weighs between 9-11 ounces..not seven pounds.

i just got done watching this and i have to say that will smith is by far one of the better actors out there….
but this movie — it was wonderful. heartwarming and sorrowful but rewarding. this movie really moved me. i see all these silly comments you guys post here but do you realize what it takes to give ones self like that — without thought without hessitation. most humans do not have it in themselves to do — oh sure we say we would die for so and so — but in the end to do it…
extraordinary film

The movie was alright. It took waaaaaaaaaaay too long to get to the point(s). I noticed one thing weird, Will didn’t have anything but the suit clothes but the condition of his body was that of an AVID weight lifter.Hmm.. anyway, I never cried, I was kinda irritated at the Rosaria character, she’s dying, hasn’t cooked in a year, passes out while walking my favorite breed of dogs and trying to get her freak on with her IRS man, then the first thing she wants to talk about is her morbid pager after sex. OMG I usually am not the type to critique movies, I just enjoy them or I don’t but this was really all over the place for me, I was distracted by so many things, like how could he possibly fix that antiquated machine she had, when even the pro’s couldn’t fix it. No one has sex with strangers that are dying. That is just weird. I love Will tho.

Oh but I wanted to know what 7lbs meant “officially” like from the people that named it. I think if you watch a movie then you should be able to understand how they came to name it by it’s content. Hearts aint 7 pounds either. Nuff said. I really didnt’ mean to be hard on the movie I was just irritated when it was over.
December 28th, 2008 at 5:53 am
7 pounds = a pound of flesh(figuratively) x 7, or his Penance for causing 7 deaths.
He saves or drastically transforms 7 lives to try and right the wrongs he feels he is responcible for.
December 28th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
Will Smith should get an Oscar nomination for his role in Seven Pounds. He was truly in character especially when you put this movie up against his other roles. Those who do not agree truly do not understand the art of acting or why Will Smith’s role was so convincing yet troubled!!

KAREN I PRETTY MUCH THINK YOU ARE A IDIOT WITH NO COMPASSION, EVEN THOUGH IT IS JUST A MOVIE. YOU TALK AS THOUGH SICK PEOPLE IRRITATE YOU!DUH AS IF YOU REALLY DIDNT GET PARTS OF THE MOVIE HE was PRETENDING TO BE AN IRS MAN THUS THE SUIT! THE WHOLE MOVIE WAS IN THE TIME FRAME OF A WEEK, AND DID YOU FORGET THAT HE WAS AN AEROSPACE ENGINEER, CAPABLE OF FIXING AN ANTIQUE PRINTING MACHINE. MAYBE YOU SHOULD LEAVE THE LARGE BUCKET OF POPCORN ALONE NEXT TIME TOO MANY DISTRACTIONS

Suicide is not justifiable in no means. To every suicide there are at least 6 survivors. It is very painful. These people dont realize what a movie like this does to us survivors, we are already struggling with the pain of losing a loved one, a movie like this give survivors thoughts that we dont need. My son shot himself in the head 22 weeks and 4 days ago. He died 23 weeks ago today, I made a decision to donate his organs, he saved 6 lives. But for someone to plan a suicide to save lives, what about his family that loves him, their lifetime of pain will be unbearable.

I’m sorry, I don’t believe in taking your own life. Our life doesn’t belong to us. We live in a world where we can’t forgive ourselves. Forgiveness starts with one, with our self.. Not being cocky. But we have enough people walking around depress, because of the past mistake. Forgive, forgive forgive. Forgiven.
